Make a batch of these fuzzy felt hearts and display them on a shelf, windowsill, mantel or any place that needs a loving touch. The hearts can be put together with thick, white craft glue, but the job will be easier with the careful use of a hot-glue gun by a parent. Ages 4+.

For one fuzzy heart you'll need:
a piece of thin cardboard
a ruler
a pencil
scissors
a square of felt
a pipe cleaner
waxed paper
2 googly eyes
a permanent marker or fabric paint
Fold the cardboard in half. Draw half a heart, about 5 cm (2 in.) wide at the biggest part, along the fold. Draw a small half heart about 2 cm (3/4 in.) wide along the fold and a very small heart about 1 cm (1/2 in.) wide. Cut out the 3 cardboard hearts and open them.
Place the large heart on the felt and trace it twice. Trace the 2 smaller hearts 4 times each. Cut out all 10 hearts.
Cut the pipe cleaner into 4 equal pieces.
Place a sheet of waxed paper on the table. To make an arm and hand, glue 1 end of 1 pipe-cleaner piece in between 2 of the smallest felt hearts. Make the other arm the same way.
To make the legs and feet, glue 1 end of each of the other 2 pipe-cleaner pieces between the other small hearts.
Place 1 of the large felt hearts on the waxed paper and glue the arms and legs into position. Glue the other large heart on top of it. Allow the glue to dry.
Glue on the googly eyes. Use a marker or paint to draw on a face and other markings if you wish. Allow the paint to dry.

Your fuzzy heart will stand up on its own if you play with the legs and feet until it's balanced. Happy Valentine's Day!
